Comment on this story I have a question for 12 million-plus illegal immigrants and supporters. Rather than protesting on the streets of the United States, why not demonstrate in their homeland?

After all, our system of government is proven. It is not our form of government that needs to change, for if it was, the illegal immigrants would not be here.

It has become obvious by the displays of flags and posters we see in the media, the protesters love their countries of origin. I would suggest the change be made from within their own countries, with support from outside interest such as governments, churches and trade unions. Protesters and supporters in the streets of the immigrants' homeland will have more impact than demonstrating in the United States.

The idea the United States is able to support every individual in the world without a living wage is not rational. This line of thinking just further erodes and penalizes the middle class of this country and is not in the best interest of the world. I wonder if the U.S. government, churches and trade unions understand where their funds originate. Poorer countries need to be built up from within, so I would suggest government, churches and trade unions go to the source of the problem and earn their keep, further allowing the working middle class of the U.S. opportunity to continue serving the world.
