1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. DAPA AND DACA ASSISTANCE GRANTS.
1.5$……. in fiscal year 2016 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of
1.6Administration for one or more competitive grants to nonprofit organizations to provide
1.7advice and assistance to individuals potentially affected by the federal Deferred Action for
1.8Parental Accountability (DAPA) and the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
1.9(DACA) programs. Eligible organizations must be currently providing assistance on
1.10immigration issues to low-income families as defined by the Legal Services Advisory
1.11Committee (LSAC) in the Minnesota judiciary. The grants must be to provide advice and
1.12legal assistance to complete immigration paperwork for the DAPA and DACA programs.
1.13The Department of Administration should aim to award grants so that services can be
1.14accessed throughout the state.
